Ok my review about this place is not based on just the place itself. I am comparing it to other Marriott properties. My family and I had talked with other Marriott owners and they told us this was one of their favorite places. So we booked it and came to see how it was. Crystal Shires is totally different than most of their other properties. The location was awesome the water was great. If you are looking for a lot of entertainment things to do. This may not be the place for you. This place is for relaxing. I did a lot of that. My family and I love Ocean Watch in Myrtle Beach the best of all the vacation Clubs we have stayed at. Crystal Shores is still well above other places. It is still worth checking out. Jim was one of the staff members that were very friendly. I can't say that for most others. Also Gail he was very friendly as well.
I am writing to formally log a complaint regarding my current stay at Marriott’s Crystal Shores. I booked an Ocean View Suite at a premium rate of $715 per night. However, the room I was assigned looks directly at a dumpster. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was told that "owners get priority" over paying guests. The only alternatives offered were completely unacceptable: a room with a hole in the bathtub, or a $100 resort credit.Paying $715 a night to stare at a dumpster—and then being treated as a low priority by staff—is poor customer service and a violation of the room type I paid for. I request that management contact me immediately to move me to the correct ocean view room category and provide appropriate compensation for this sub-standard experience.Sincerely
Do you love the sound of a dumpster in the early morning (5:00 am)? Do you love garbage pick up mid day? How about scrubbing in the afternoon? Then the gulf view room is for you. You can see just a little touch ocean from the balcony, a special treat. All joking aside, avoid rooms on the 3rd floor facing the Hilton. The rest of the resort is beautiful. The beach is beautiful but be careful which room you are booking. Update: Inside our room we also only had warm or hot water. The microwave and the ice maker didn't work. The cable went out around 10 PM each night. The elevators were broken most of the stay. Overall, after the week it felt like an aging property that was a cash grab. Drinks and food were so over priced. Even the activities were priced higher than made sense. I would look around the area to see which properties are open. You might find a better deal.
Peaceful and quiet with a beautiful pool. The balcony provides a nice view of the beach and ocean. The suite has a modern open layout with a large kitchen. Plenty of parking including indoor garages.
Of the many Marriott properties at which we've stayed, this is one of the very best! The rooms are large, well equipped, and perfect for multi-generational families. The pools are clean and large enough to handle the number of guests. The location is right on the beautiful beach. Excellent staff everywhere! Highly recommend!
