This review is for the benefit of former guests who might be expecting something resembling the resort hotel of four and more years ago.  Before this year we were guests here four times, most recently in 2022. First, the positives: the few staff that we ran across were friendly and helpful, especially the valets.  The hotel and room were clean, and the exercise facility is excellent.  You are literally steps from the beautiful beach, and it's a short walk to many excellent restaurants.  But, apparently due to changes behind the scenes the following is different: Formerly you were greeted by staff at the hotel counter; now, the counter is vacant and instead you deal with earbuds-guy (see other reviews) at a desk on the other side of the lobby. Formerly there was an on-site spa and resort clothing shop; now those spaces are vacant. On the beach, formerly pairs of sturdy chaises-longues, with full-size beach umbrellas, were included free with your stay, along with staff on the beach to serve your food & beverage orders.   Now you have to either carry big folding chairs down from your room, or rent the chairs that are already on the beach from a third party.  (To rub it in, when you get to the beach, you're told by a greeter that the free chairs there are for the use of "Tarpon Club" members only.) [ Specific only to winter 2026, we had a "garden view suite", (#609) which in the past was very pleasant.  This year, with workers renovating the roof a few feet away most days, we could not use the balcony.  The management had offered a pre-trip cancellation and refund because of the continued pool closing, which we declined, but the extent of the construction was unexpected. ] Ignoring the construction negatives, and the location positives, in our opinion this is now no more than a 3-star-level hotel, due to the above and the sparse room amenities (no bathrobes, no room service, etc). It's still a good value for the location though.

Josè was the only concierge who greeted us EVERY time and he greeted each guest as well! He is a great face for your hotel! The other concierges were always on their phones with earphones in and NEVER greeted any of the guests unless they were checking in. I highly recommend Josè retrain your staff on hospitality!! 10/10 recommend!

Great stay. Overall property is well maintained. The pool area renovation has been completed and looks great. The staff is very welcoming. Although beach chairs and umbrellas are available in every room, it’s not the same as it was before that beach chairs and umbrellas were provided at the beach for all guests. Therefore, if you want to rent beach chair/umbrella at the beach to avoid the hassle of carrying them from the room, you’ll end up paying $60 for the day.

An average experience at best. The biggest highlight is definitely the direct beach access. The valet staff was friendly. There’s a small beach bar on the property that was nice for grabbing a drink/lunch on the way to the beach. However, everything else felt underwhelming for the price. For a place that markets itself as a “resort,” it really falls short. While they do provide beach chairs, you have to carry and set them up yourself, which is not ideal when traveling with kids. If you want a more typical beach setup with umbrellas and chairs ready for you, you’ll have to pay extra. Amenities are limited. There’s no on-site café or coffee shop, just a Keurig in the room. If you’re looking for a decent cup of coffee in the morning, you’ll need to head next door to the Marriott The pool is quite small, and the rooms felt worn and poorly maintained. Our dresser drawers were falling off the hinges, the bathroom flooring was peeling, and the walls were extremely thin, we could hear full conversations from neighboring rooms and even feel when they opened and closed their balcony doors. To make matters worse, there was construction right outside our balcony starting at 7am on a Saturday, which made it hard to relax. Overall, this property didn’t feel like a true resort and didn’t justify the price point. While there were a few positives, we wouldn’t stay here again given the cost and overall experience.

At $675 a night, this property markets itself as a luxury oceanfront extended-stay. What we actually booked was two nights inside an active renovation zone, and management has been unresponsive since. The pool, sauna, and hot tub are all closed — not reduced hours, not partial access, closed. Meanwhile, construction runs throughout the day: tile cutting, drilling, and constant banging audible from inside the suites. The tile cutting also throws dust into surrounding areas. We have video documenting the noise; this isn't ambient construction, it's a working job site. There was a renovation disclosure on the Capital One Travel booking page, but it was buried in small print and — remarkably — displayed with unparsed HTML code embedded in the text, making it nearly unreadable. No reasonable guest skimming that page would come away understanding that the pool would be fully closed or that loud construction would be active throughout the stay. We had booked two nights with the second intended as a dedicated work day. Neither the amenities we were paying for nor a quiet environment to use the suite was actually available. After checkout, I emailed the property with a detailed account of the issues and a request to discuss appropriate compensation. No reply. If you're booking this property expecting what it advertises — luxury, oceanfront, functional amenities, a quiet place to relax or work — be aware that during our stay, none of those were present, and management showed no interest in making it right.
