On a whim, while I was at Dylan’s and chatting with someone from Mangrove Barber & Shave Shop, I decided to get my hair cut. I rarely get my hair done professionally because my hair is all one length, so I usually just trim it myself at home. Honestly, I also never would have considered going to a barber shop instead of a salon — but Mahina seemed genuinely excited to tackle my wild mane and confidently told me she could do layers. From the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming. I also met Mike, who was very kind and has such a great way of connecting with customers. You can tell he genuinely enjoys people and creating a great atmosphere. Mahina started with a wash and then gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. Right away, my hair felt healthier, lighter, and had so much more movement. I originally planned to leave with it wet since I was just heading home, but Mahina insisted on styling it — and I’m so glad she did! She gave me the most amazing blowout, honestly better than any I’ve ever had at a salon. I left feeling so happy with my cut and style. It actually inspired me to wear and style my hair instead of constantly putting it up. The entire experience was relaxing, uplifting, and such a great reminder that we all deserve to be pampered once in a while — and I absolutely felt pampered! Thank you so much, Mahina, for the incredible cut and style. I will definitely be back… no more cutting my own hair!

Mangrove has always been my go-to as far as "specialty" shops go. I dont always go but I do when I want to treat myself. Never a bad experience. Im just never "wowwed". Well this all changed (for the better) after having my head shaved and a beard trim from Mahina. I am honestly shocked that she doesnt have more Google reviews. I told her I was going to be a guest on a popular podcast and wanted to dye my beard a bit and Mahina gave her professional advice to not do that if its my first time dying my beard. I really appreciated that advice. So then we started getting into the mix and we find out that we grew up in the same area in New England. She apologized for being "OCD about detail", something no barber should ever apologize for. The conversation was awesome. Playful but professional banter the whole time. You can tell that she likes what she does. She really gave me the beard trim that finally wowed me. I wasn't offered a drink and my mouth was parched the whole time but honestly I dont come here for a "free" beer/soda/water. I come for a quality beard trim and thats exactly what Mahina gave me. My only regret is not giving a better tip. I should have given her more than 25% for this.

The place is nice and the ambience is very relaxed. I've got manicure, eyebrows waxed, and beard shaped + trimmed. Mahina is super nice and did an amazing job. Listening to personnel chatting was very entertaining. Will definitely come again.

New shop from the guys at 5th Ave Barber. They are trying a couple of different themes/thoughts on how to set up this shop. Santos is the man!

Don’t waste your time here. The barbers can’t stop talking loudly and obnoxiously the entire time instead of focusing on their job. Spit flying everywhere, and the haircut was absolutely terrible. I wasted $40 here and still had to fix it myself at home because the barber clearly has no idea how to shape a haircut properly to match a client’s head. Completely amateur work
